At this time of year, more than any other, demand for our 3 Wick Candle is high. They make an amazing gift and are perfect for these dark evenings when we're all indoors more and have candles burning for longer.
3 Wick CandleBut to get the most from these larger candles and to ensure that you get the full 90 hours gorgeously scented burn time, there's one really important thing to need to do when you light it first...and that's to leave it burning for c.2 hours until you have a full pool of wax across the top of the candle surface.

Please resist the temptation to light the candle for 30 minutes the moment you get it home - and then blow it out because either you're dashing out again or you're trying to make the candle last longer. It's so tempting to get that Bog Standard fragrance out there straightaway but a short first burn will cause the candle to start tunnelling - and we've blogged about that before. If your candle has already started tunnelling because the first burn was too short, you can read here about how to reverse the effects.

Beyond that first long burn, you will be able to light the candle for shorter bursts subsequently, as long as you let it burn for at least a couple of hours every now and again to restore the full pool of wax.

And if you can't resist a shorter burn, why not pick up Linen and Winter candles in smaller sizes and save your 3 Wick candle for days when you are able to leave the candle burn for a longer time?

As always, if you've ever any questions about your Bog Standard candles, please contact us via our Facebook page or email
